Macau overnight visitors rise 9.8 per cent last year

Macau welcomed 30.95 million visitor arrivals in 2016.


The total number of visitor arrivals rose 0.8 per cent year-on-year.


Mainlanders, Hongkongers and Taiwanese accounted for 90.3 per cent in total.


9 million visitors were Guangdong residents.


While the number of visitors from the mainland and Taiwan rose the number of Hong Kong visitors fell.


Among foreign visitors, South Koreans made up the biggest segment with 662,300 tourists.
